Thursday, March 18th – Opening Night – Shows Begin

6:00pm; Press Conference – Welcome by Bill Talbert, President of the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau and City of Miami Mayor Tomas Regalado who will present Beth Sobol, Founder and President of MIFW with a Proclamation designating Miami International Fashion Week as the "official" fashion event for the City of Miami.

7:30pm; Swimwear Showcase – Mikieda Franklin/St. Kitts, Kristin Frazer/British Virgin Islands

9:00pm; Miami Style Showcase – Student Designer Competition Finalists: Nhoc Ngo Anh, Raffles Int'l College/Vietnam; Jungeun EOM, Ecole Supérieur de la Mode/France; Rye Yi Lee, Fashion Inst. of Design & Merchandising/USA; Ima Ima by Fatima Mohammed Preston University at Ajmam, Dubai UAE; Ramona Rusu, University of Arts & Design/Romania. Emerging Designer Competition Finalists: Erin Healy/USA and Prashant Sudha/India. Presentation of the winners for Student and Emerging Designers of the Year
and live performance by recording star JORDI. Miami Style Prelude: Cesar Rosario, Romina Heighes, claudiae by Claudia Estrada and Eduardo de las Casas. Miami Style Showcase featuring Julian Chang, Petit Pois by Viviana G and Nicolas Felizola. Live performance by new Latin recording sensation ELIAN.

11:00pm; VIP Opening Night Party – SET Lounge 320 Lincoln Road, Miami Beach. Tickets available at the shows.
